The flood drainage channel combined with Road D25 has been proposed for implementation to reduce the risk of flooding in western Nha Trang and surrounding areas, following the historic rainfall and flooding in mid-November.
On December 13, the Project Management Board for Agricultural and Transportation Construction Works of Khanh Hoa Province submitted documents for appraisal of the investment proposal report for the D25 Road project combined with the Vinh Trung flood drainage channel.
According to the proposal, the project will be implemented in Tay Nha Trang Ward and Dien Dien Commune, with a total estimated investment of nearly 2,000 billion VND.

The project includes a road combined with a flood drainage channel, aimed at increasing the drainage capacity and reducing the risk of flooding for the western part of the city and surrounding areas, while also completing the infrastructure according to the approved master plan. The project is expected to break ground in 2026 and be completed after approximately two years.
Previously, the mid-November rainfall and flooding in Khanh Hoa Province caused 22 deaths, over 1,000 houses collapsed or damaged, and numerous roads, crops, and infrastructure works were devastated, with total damages estimated at over 5,000 billion VND.
Among the affected areas, Tay Nha Trang Ward and Dien Dien Commune were recorded as the localities suffering the most severe damage.
